Take the road less traveled and discover an amazing part of Michigan’s Maritime history, Crisp Point Lighthouse, one of the most remote Great Lakes Lighthouses. Located just over an hour from Muskallonge Lake State Park and half an hour from the mouth of the Two Hearted River, Crisp point is one of the most secluded Michigan Lighthouses. GPS won’t get you there, follow the signs along the heavily forested road to bring you to the coast. The lighthouse is all that remains from original complex built in 1875. Miles away from signs of modern civilization, the lighthouse receives close to 25,000 visitors a year. If you’re planning to visit the Tahquamenon Falls region, come enjoy the isolation of Crisp Point. Here you will experience Superior’s beautiful winding shorelines, forests home to all forms of wildlife and a fantastic freighter viewing site. The trip will definitely be worth your time. You might even leave with a treasure, the area has been know for agates!
